No, I’m not quoting an old TV commercial for a well known fast food chain.  I am stone cold serious.  I need a break.  What with one thing and another, I’ve had a genuinely rough couple of months, the last few weeks of which have been the worst ever.  In a way, I feel kinda like Schwarzenegger looked near the end of the Terminator movies and the same quote applies “I need a vacation”.

There’s a lot to be said for downtime.  The removal of stress for a while so that the spirit, mind and body can all recharge before having to face the increasingly cruel joke that life can often be.  Not only that, but escaping from the sound of a certain obnoxious automobile would be more than welcome as well.

The other day, I got a call from one of those telemarketer outfits that was selling top of the line vacation packages to Branson Missouri.  While I’m no big fan of most of the music there and the rides just ain’t gonna happen with my frequent dizziness and fear of heights.

On the other hand, there are some things there that I’d like to see someday.  For example there’s a 1/2 scale replica of the Titanic.  There’s this 20 room tour you can take and they’ve got a whole boatload (no pun intended) of artifacts and personal belongings that were taken off the ship by surviving passengers.

Other than that, there’s the World’s Largest Antique Toy Museum, the Hollywood Wax Museum, places like Silver Dollar City and a lot more.  And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to stay in a place with a name like “The Settle Inn”?  I mean, Please.
