I think that many marketers, both online and telephone marketers have finally provided proof that there are in fact people that can live and function (to a degree) without any evidence of them possessing a working brain.

For example, it ought to be taught as a cardinal rule in any sales training course that when you make a sales call to somebody by phone, that your phone droids are capable of speaking the appropriate language fluently.

In fact, this is one of my biggest peeves about telemarketers these days (other than the fact that I still get calls even though I’m on the “do not call” list), I’ll get a call from somebody trying to sell me something and I can’t understand a word they’re saying.

Then there’s the “nigerian” (and now Iraqi) email scams.  it’s amazing to me that anybody actually falls for them.  Any email asking for the personal information that these things want needs to be flushed.

Oh yeah, lets not forget about the emails claiming to be from various banks and financial institutions claiming that they need to verify your information so that you can get to the money in them…. it’s really rich, Why would anyone answer them?  Especially when they don’t even have an account with the bank or whatever in question?

Then there’s the emails claiming to be from ebay or paypal, delivered to email addresses that have *NEVER* been associated with either.

What’s your favorite pet marketing or email stupidity?
