I have just one question about this: WHY does it take a "think tank" to
come up with something so obvious as the fact that a person has the
right to make a personal copy of CDs and DVDs that they purchase. It’s
no different from the right to make an archival backup of software
purchased. It’s not piracy, it’s a backup copy, intended for personal
use, not sale.

for legal copying of own CDs

People should be given a
"private right to copy’" their own CDs and DVDs, says a think tank.

of course, this means that all those nasty little anti-copying measures
and DRM features need to be removed so that those copies can be made now
doesn’t it? <Grin>
