Two Printers, No Printing
My office is a model of efficiency. The problem is that it is not a WORKING model of efficiency, it only looks like one. Heck, it doesn’t even play one on tv. (yeah, that’s a *really* old joke, I know.)
For example take my printers, please. Seriously one of them, the best of the two, is an old cannon BJC 4300 ink jet that I got second hand in a yard sale for five dollars. It worked reliably for over six years with a bare minimum of expense. Ink was dirt cheap compared to most other models and I only had to replace the print head twice in all that time. (I don’t do a lot of printing)
The other printer is an HP P.O.S. for which the ink runs fifteen dollars a cartridge for black and a little more for color. A new ink cartridge has about almost enough ink in it to print just under a hundred pages, about half of which gets used to print test pages which it does every single effing time you turn the damned thing on.
I’ve been looking around and have come to the conclusion that I’m NOT going to find another golden deal like I did with the last Cannon printer, which recently died of a ROM failure. However I’ve found a new unit, a Canon Bubble Jet i80 Printer that looks like it should be every bit as useful as it’s predecessor.
As for the HP unit, the only thing wrong with it is that it’s out of ink. The thing there is that I flat out refuse to pay those horrifying prices for ink when that blasted thing is going to waste most of it in head cleaning and test page printing. I wouldn’t EVER recommend HP printers to anyone.
The cannon on the other hand, looks like it will be a fine addition to my office. … Just as soon as I can convince somebody that it would also be an excellent birthday present!
