… Y’know, it seems to me that folks in Boulder could hve saved themselves a load of money if they had done the DNA testing before going to all the trouble to extradite this guy.

Prosecutors Drop Case in Ramsey Slaying

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Prosecutors abruptly dropped their case Monday against John Mark Karr in the slaying of JonBenet Ramsey, saying DNA tests failed to put him at the crime scene despite his insistence he sexually assaulted and strangled the 6-year-old beauty queen.

Granted, They’ve also got him on other charges, but still, something about this just wasn’t right if the wrong guy can give a false confession and raise the hopes of the family that the case might finally close and maybe even some justice be served. Seems to me that false confession ought to cost him somehow…in addition to the other charges they still have on him.
