Have you ever stopped to think about the things you think about when
you’re angry with someone? If you’re honest, you’ll have to admit that
one of the things that we all tend to want is to "get revenge" against
the one we’re mad at. We humans are a pretty reactionary bunch and when
we’re hurt by or upset about something one of the first things we think
about doing is lashing out in anger.. We often feel the need to "get
even" with someone by finding a way to make them suffer like we feel
they made us suffer.

The problem is that this is a destructive behavior. It starts a vicious
circle where people just get angrier and angrier, getting revenge
against each other until finally something goes too far. Even if this
doesn’t result in people getting physically hurt or killed (and it often
does, just watch the news.), it ends up breaking friendships, family’s,
hearts and even spirits.

Does this mean then that God doesn’t want us to get angry? No, in
Ephesians 4:26, the Bible says "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the
sun go down upon your wrath:". This means that there are times we have
every right to be angry about something, but we need to use some self
control and not let that anger start destroying things and people.

"But that so-and-so hurt me, stole from me, hurt someone I love, who’s
going to make them pay?"

God will always see to it that everyone gets what they have coming to
them.

Romans 12:19, "Be Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give
place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay,
saith the Lord."

For some that will mean forgiveness as they repent and turn to Him. For
others it means that the consequences of their actions will catch up
with them in this life, sending them to prison, costing them their
health and many more will face eternal condemnation at the judgment God
doesn’t want us to damage ourselves and make things worse by feeding the
cycle of destruction.

forgiveness and how God wants us to deal with them.
