OnCallContractors has announced a contractor matching system that is
supposed to make it easier to find the right Home
Improvement Contractors
. The idea is to take some of the challenge
out of selecting a residential general contractor.

When you go to the site the first thing you see is a page full of text
with tips and guidlines for choosing a contractor. In a menu bar near
the top of the page you click on the type of proect. This takes you to a
page where you fill in the zip code of the project and select some
options to specify the focus of your project. On the second step page
you fill in contact information and click the ‘Submit Now’ button. After
this they will contact you about possible contracters that matched for
your job.

The site was simply laid out and to the point without a lot of unneeded
baggage that doesn’t do much besides slow things down. The only downside
I saw was that I would have preferred if they had used a secure page
(https) for the contact information form.
