With all the GPS technology and other gadgets appearing in cars these days, somebody has finally come up with something useful. It’s called TrafficGauge. It’s a wireless device that delivers a almost-real-time traffic report. Based on reports that are updated every four minutes it gives you a nice, easy to read map showing where the worst of the traffic problems are. It’s offered in 17 cities across the country and could save a lot of frustration and gasoline.

Here’s what they have to say about it:

TrafficGauge device offers real-time traffic anytime, anywhere with the TrafficGauge handheld, TrafficGauge for Cell, TrafficGauge for PC, TrafficGauge for Widget Suite and TrafficGauge for iPhone. Each product or service offers simple to use and easy to read traffic maps. These maps are the best in the industry. The device is an award winning, customer-loving favorite for navigating traffic in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. The cell phone and PC/Mac software is free and works in most major metropolitan markets.

Sounds like a pretty cool device, my GPS doesn’t inform me about traffic. Then I get stuck in a traffic jam and I wonder why I bought the thing in the first place.
