Darfur In The News Again

Welcome back!

After quite a while in which you hardly ever hear anything about it, the Darfur conflict in Sudan is in the news again. This time it's the UN secretary general that's making the peace talk moves. I wonder how long it's going to last this time? Given the track record of just about everybody on the planet when it comes to ignoring this thing I can't help but wonder if the people trapped in the middle of this thing are going to see any rest short of Jesus' second coming.

UN Chief Urges End to Darfur Conflict

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon urged Sudanese on Monday to seize the "historic opportunity" of a new peacekeeping force in Darfur to start a conclusive round of peace talks to end the conflict.
