I love it when I find headlines like this:

STEM CELL BREAKTHROUGH AVOIDS EMBRYO USE

U.S. and Japanese research teams have both, independently, reported success in making
skin cells take on characteristics of stem cells. The technique avoids the swarm of
ethical, political and practical obstacles involved with cloning embryos.

… because it proves what a lot of us have been saying all along, that stem cell research that involves harvesting embryonic stem cells is NOT the way to go. Here we have a solution. Cause some other kind of cell to take on the properties of stem cells and use them instead.

This is the kind of solution that allows science the tools it’s wanting and also prevents the needless murder of human embryos to supply those tools.
