Well, it’s official, the talks have begun between Bush and mideast leaders about coming up with peace and in particular will be raised is the Palestinian state issue.

BOLD BUT CAUTIOUS STEPS ON ROAD TO PEACE

After a day of intense diplomacy in Maryland that yielded a vague, but highly
symbolic agreement between the Mideast leaders, President Bush has invited the two
men back to the White House to officially kick off the first direct talks in seven
years.

The thing is, it’s not going to happen. Oh, I’m not being a pessimist here, I know that they’re going to give it a try. They’ll probably even managed to agree on some things and make some real progress in the area of not constantly trying to blow each others heads off. However if anybody thinks that there will ever be a “Palestinian state” then they need a mental colon cleanse to wash that fantasy out of their brains.
