Welcome back!
Yep. I'm still at it, dropping more hints via the wish list. Now I *know* that it's not like one of these continuing wish list additions are actually very likely to ever happen but I figure what the heck, I can still "Window shop" as it used to be called and who knows? Anything is possible.
Besides' that, I'm always on the lookout for a good high end machine with recent technology, a fast processor, boatloads of RAM, and a graphics card that will actually NOT freeze up and cower in the corner when I ask it to process video or 3-d model rendering & such.
This ASUS K52JR-X5 Laptop looks like one of the better possibilities that I've seen lately.
Not only does it have the much coveted high end graphics card (a recent model ATI Radeon with a gigabyte of video memory!), it's also got four gigabytes of RAM, and runs at 2.6 gigahertz.
I have to admit that I'm not overly thrilled with it having Windows seven but since the thing is on sale and because if *I* ended up with one it'd probably be a gift anyway, I figure it wouldn't hurt to give Windows Seven a try just to check it out. Besides, I'd probably end up making it a dual boot with KUbuntu Linux anyway.
