The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement is reaching a point where it could actually become law.

It needs to be stopped.

Why?  Because something that was intended to cut down the flow of phony physical products across borders.  Then somewhere along the way somebody fed it too many of the wrong vitamins and it has morphed into something that is going to be a serious threat to freedom of speech, freedom of information and creativity.

Among the things it will do are:

Force ISP’s to hand over the identities of their subscribers to copyright owners . . . Without ANY due process OR judicial oversight at all!

Force ISP’s to disconnect people that are accused (NOT convicted!) of repeated copyright violations.  What ever happened until innocent until proven guilty?!?!?

It threatens outrageous penalties for copyright infringement.  So bad that innovation and creativity will suffer because people will be afraid to try something for fear of being accused of copyright violation

There’s more, and you can read all about it here.  On that page you can also fill in a form and send a message to lawmakers telling them to stop this insanity.

Don’t wait, do it now!
