A Peculiar Blog

Over the nearly two years since my wife died I’ve been slowly going through things and deciding what to keep, what to set aside for family members and what to just plain throw away.  Something that I have found a lot of in this time is address labels.  Those little personalized stickers that save you the trouble of having to put in the return address on envelopes and packages.  They’re a little thing but I have found them to be SO handy that I just couldn’t get rid of them.

Some of them date back almost seven or eight years.  She used to spend a lot of time online looking for freebies of various kinds and one of the things she found was these address labels.  Ever since then another bunch of them would arrive in the mail every six months to a year or so.  I don’t know for sure how many there are in the house but I wouldn’t be surprised if the number was somewhere close to a thousand.

I’ve hesitated to throw them out because, like I said, they’re so handy.  Also because I have yet to find out where I could get some of these freebies sent to me with MY name on them instead of hers.  Someday I’m going to have to take a day and actually do some serious looking to see if I can find ’em.
