After my last post mentioning My video review series “Watching Bad Videos (so you don’t have to)” It occurred to me that because I’ve had questions about the title of that series and why I chose it.

It’s really simple.  There are a zillion movies out there and even more youtube videos out there.  The problem is in finding the good ones.  It’s a problem because 99.99999% of them are absolute total irredeemable crap.  There is so much crap that it’s actually pretty hard to find the really good stuff.  Kinda like looking for a particular drop of water in the ocean.

Most of the good videos and movies are lost in the crowd of crap.  Oh sometimes word of mouth will help a movies but videos, unless you’re one of the very few fortunate people who get featured on the youtube front page or have the resources of triangle direct media working in your favor, then your videos are probably going to be lost in the ocean of youtube crapola.

My aim with WBV is to help make it easier to find the good stuff.  To do this I watch A LOT of videos, the overwhelming majority of which are total crap.  However when I find good ones I will do a review of them and provide links to them.  This helps lesser known (or totally unknown) video makers get some much needed and much deserved exposure.

I’ve done 18 episodes of WBV so far and starting this week I’ll be doing a LOT more of them.  My goal being as always to bring out the gems from that ocean of crap and share them with everyone.

You can suggest movies and videos for me to review easily.  Just mention it on twitter using the hashtag #watchingbadvideos.  I have a filter set up that looks for tweets using that hashtag and I will try to use as many of your sugestions as possible.
