A Peculiar Blog

You know how some people manage to end up getting all kinds of fantastic deals on just about anything?  People that somehow end up getting stuff for free when the rest of us have to pony up the hard cash?

Well my wife had that ability.  For example one thing that she somehow managed was to get
address labels sent to her free.  She’d get them every two or three months in packages of several hundred at a time.  Some time after she died I collected all of them together and there were well over three thousand assorted address labels!

The thing is that she never said how it was that she managed that.  *I* have never gotten any kind of deal like that for free address lables that didn’t have some kind of “gotcha” attached to them like having to buy something or donate to some cause that I didn’t agree with.

I don’t suppose it’s all that important, I mean address labels are more of a convenience to be honest and if I really wanted them they don’t actually cost all that much.

The big thing is the sheer idea that so many people manage to get stuff free and I’ve never been able to do that.
