‘Dumb Mistake’ Or Careful Plan?
As the presidential race continues so too does the various and sundry antics of the candidates. In particular are those things which are designed to either show themselves in a good light or to show an opponent in a bad light.
In this case Barack Obama’s campaign put out a memo critical of Mrs Clinton’s financial ties to India. Whether Barack Obama knew personally of the memo is anybody’s guess, but it’s obvious that somebody in his camp thought it would either be beneficial to the Obama campaign or at least it would be harmful to the Clinton campaign.
NEWTON, Iowa (AP) – Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama on Monday said his campaign made a “dumb mistake” when it circulated a memo criticizing rival Hillary Rodham Clinton’s financial ties to India.
In either case I don’t see why he’s calling it a “dumb mistake”, since criticizing everything under the sun about your opponents and their dealings is what running for public office has turned into.
Long gone are the days when any candidate for any office focused entirely on the positive achivements they’re hoping to bring to the office they’re seeking.
