US Asst. Secretary of State Hill was optimistic about reaching an agreement on steps
to shut down North Korea’s nuclear programs, but was uncertain if negotiators would
have a statement before the end of the latest round of six nation talks.

All I can say here is that I’m glad that somebody can be optimistic about North Korea shutting down it’s nuclear programs because I just don’t have that same confidence.  North Korea’s leader has proven over the years that he is not exactly stable to say the very least.  They’ve also proven that they are ever bit as intent on developing nuclear weapons capability as Iran is.

They can say what they like, and Washington can be all polite about it and make nice in public but I’m quite sure that it’s another matter entirely behind closed doors.
