Is A CIA Response To A Subpoena Worth Much?
I just saw this ….
Under a subpoena threat, the CIA is expected to quickly begin turning over to
Congress documents related to the destruction of videotapes showing the harsh
interrogation of two terror suspects.
… and it got me wondering. The CIA is well known to be an outfit that operates more on the “dark side” of life than most others. Their whole business is all about secrets, keeping theirs and ferreting out others. Now Congress wants them to hand over documents that give details about the destruction of those tapes.
I’m going to be at least a bit shocked if they actually come up with the genuine articles instead of simply manufacturing what they need to satisfy Congress (if not the media) while keeping their secrets. Most especially the secret of their “Interrogation techniques” which I’m certain are shady at best.
