Karl Rove Leaves White House

After something like 30 years, Karl Rove is no longer working for President Bush as of the end of August.  Somehow I can’t help thinking that the fact he’s leaving isn’t going to do much to cut down on the controversy that’s followed him around for quite a while now.

Karl Rove, President Bush’s chief political strategist and longtime confidante,
announced he will leave the White House at the end of August. Mr. Bush thanked Rove
for his service and called him a “dear friend.”

Which is worse?

Well, the Iowa straw poll is over with and while Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was the winner, Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee finished second.  He’s also now saying that this has put him in the lead position of Repulican contenders.

Why is it that I feel the idea of a choice between Huckabee, Obama and Clinton isn’t a good field to choose from?  Probably because it isn’t.

Anybody think to look at China lately?

First there’s the pet food thing, then it’s toothpaste and toys. with all these recalls going on after a while the fact that China is connected with so much of it starts to get more than a little suspicious.

Now the most recent thing is another toy recall and again you have to wonder about China and it’s motives.  Now There’s something floating around about China having plans to attempt crippling the US economy by pulling all of their resources out.

And still yet almost nobody seems to see China as a threat.  I wonder why that is?  One Thing’s for sure.  “Made In China” is definitely becoming more and more of a label to avoid.

Pumping Money isn’t answer enough

The financial markets have been going nuts lately with the Dow falling so far in so short a time.  Now the Fed is gonna pump money into the system to try to calm people down.  Thing is, even if it gets any results, they’re only going to be temporary until another problem comes along.  Besides which, this mortgage problem is NOT going to just go away nice and easy.  I have no doubt that it’s going to get messier before it gets better.

The Federal Reserve, trying to calm turmoil on Wall Street, said it will provide
liquidity to help bolster U.S. financial markets. But the move didn’t appear to ease
investors’ worries, with the markets dropping sharply again in early trading.

The really bad part is that a lot of good people are going to be taken to the cleaners before it’s all over.

Arrests made in yet another senseless killing

By now I think most people have heard about the execution style shooting of four college students, three of which were killed.

It seems anymore that senseless high profile killings like this are becoming a lot more commonplace these days.

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy in the killings of three college students in a
schoolyard. A second suspect, a 31-year-old man, surrendered to police, law
enforcement officials said. Investigators said more arrests could follow.

Like most people, I don’t have any specific answers about why these things are happening, but I can say that this is the kind of thing that Jesus was talking about when he said that the love of many would grow cold because lawlessness would be abundant. (Matthew 24:12)

The thing I see about it is that it’s kind of a vicious circle.  Because there is so much Iniquity (or lawlessness), many people become cold and unloving.  This in turn means that there is a high chance of more iniquity, which will take the love out of many more people and so on.

This story and others like it, when you look at what’s happened and why, are a sure sign that we’re living in the last days.
