Here’s a good one that I concocted after some inspiration from my wife.
- 2 lbs Italian sausage
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced bell pepper
- 2 cans diced tomato
- 6 packages Ramen soup mix
- 6 cups water
- 3 heaping teaspoons of minced garlic
- Italian seasoning
In a large skillet, when first starting the sausage, sprinkle liberally with Italian seasoning mix, add the onions and bell pepper, then brown the sausage making sure it’s all crumbled.
When the sausage is done, crush the ramen noodles with the heel of your hand before opening the package, then add the crushed noodles to the sausage, saving the little spice packet for later
Add the water, tomato, garlic and the contents of the spice packets. Add a second liberal coating of Italian seasonings and then stir it all together, making sure the powdered seasonings are well mixed in
Bring this to a boil while stirring frequently. Coat again with Italian Seasoning, stir, then reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 20 minutes. Stirring occasionally. I find that its best after much longer simmering time of 45 minutes to an hour.
This makes enough to serve for supper and have enough left over to get another meal out of it. For best reheating, put it in a skillet over medium heat and add a cup of water. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. (add another cup of water if needed).

I’m seeing something strange here
I’ve got Adsense code embeded in the sidebar, yet when I view this blog with Opera 8.5, I don’t see the Adsense content while it works fine with Firefox.
I’m pretty sure that I don’t have any settings in Opera 8.5 that would prevent it from showing, and on my wife’s computer it the Adsense content shows just fine in Opera 7.11
Welcome to the semi-official first entry of “A Peculiar Blog”.
I’ll be using this space to talk about all sorts of things, sometimes with a real point to make and other times just blathering on about whatever comes to mind.
This space will also see announcements about new articles by my wife on her site Lura’s Bookcase and new articles on my site A Peculiar Place as well as new issues of Lastdays Watch. Last but not least, developments and new releases of Mixminion Message Sender as I get more work done on that project.
I’m also going to see what I can do about getting and implementing one of the tools I saw mentioned on the thingamablog site to add commenting capability tot this thing. For now though, I’m satisfied to just get this thing working write and posted.
